HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP:
It’s becoming a little confusing for people to figure out where they should send
charitable donations to the victims affected by the earthquake in Haiti. We’ve provided
some information on what each organization is aiming to achieve and how you can
make a difference:
The United Nations World Food Program is currently sending food assistance to the
island and announced it will provide ten-million dollars in aid. The World Bank
pledged 100-million dollars to the cause. UNICEF has promised to deploy “essential
aid” while The American Red Cross is looking to fund 200-thousand in assistance
to impacted communities. Direct Relief International has sent 420-thousand dollars
worth of medicine, supplies and food to Port-au-Prince’s St. Damien Children’s Hospital.

adding, “For those interested in helping immediately, simply text “HAITI”
to “90999″ and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to
the Red Cross to help
with relief efforts, charged to your cell phone bill.”
